ALIQUID Lacquer Giveaway + Silmarillion Collection: Hidden City, Dragonspell, Divine Curse, and Day Shall Come Again

Products provided for review

Hey folks!  I've got four out of the seven new polishes from ALIQUID Lacquer's new Tolkien-inspired Silmarillion collection on the blog today.  There's quite a bit to cover, so let's get right to it!

(Pssst...Be sure to check out the giveaway at the end!)

Hidden City is a rich green linear holographic polish featuring gold, bronze, and copper flecks.  Personally, I find that it gives more of an earthy forest vibe indoors and an almost teal oceanic vibe when in bright sun.  It's absolutely amazing and despite taking way too many photos of it out on my back deck (didn't want to stop looking at it), I'm not sure any of my photos fully captured its beauty!  Formula is fine, dry time is average, and full opacity can be achieved in just two coats.

Dragonspell features an amber jelly base filled with vivid green shimmer and gold flakies.  It's kind of like a tortoiseshell look, but fancier!  Even if you're not into brown tones, I really think you should give this polish a shot because the flakies and shimmer are super pretty.  Formula was great, dry time was average, and full opacity can be reached with two easy coats.

Divine Curse is described by ALIQUID Lacquer as "a sheer purple base packed with copper, gold and green shimmer, red flecks, and black flakes that flash purple."  It's one of those moody, mysterious colors.  I found the formula to be slightly fussy (the flakes keep it from going on as smooth as I'd like), but it wasn't too troublesome.  Dry time was average. You'll likely need three coats to reach full opacity, but if you have short nails or tend to do thicker coats, you might be able to get away with only two coats.

Blurry to show flashes of sparkle

Day Shall Come Again is a shimmer polish featuring a rusty maroon base filled with red/orange/yellow multichrome shimmer and larger particles that give off flashes of red, green, and copper.  Basically, it's a slightly sparkly shimmer that appears more berry-toned from some angles and more orange-toned at other angles.  Very pretty and classy!  The formula was fine, dry time was average, and you'll reach full opacity in 2-3 coats.

  3. They're all awesome! Dragonspell fascinates me the most, though. It's not a color I would normally gravitate toward, but it's unique! I certainly don't have anything like it.
