Smitten Polish Forever Home (Charity Auction Custom)

Hey folks!  Very soon, I'll be organizing a small charity auction to benefit Pig Placement Network (a registered 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization), with the request that the money donated be used to help the homeless potbellied pigs being fostered at Ross Mill Farm & Piggy Camp.  Ross Mill is currently home to 109 adoptable pigs, and they need everything from food, to medical care, to blankets and more! The auction will be held on my Facebook page starting June 23rd (rules and details to come later)!

All polishes were custom-made for this event and will not be available outside the auction.  Two bottles of each color have been made, but only one of each will ever be made available for purchase at the auction.  The second bottle is my "swatch bottle," which will allow me to take promotional swatch photos without ruining the auction bottles.  These swatch bottles will remain in my possession forever and will not be auctioned.

The first polish I'd like to show you is "Forever Home" by Smitten Polish!  Forever Home is a red jelly with a pink/gold shift and holographic glitter.  It is incredibly stunning and photos do not come anywhere near capturing its beauty.  The formula is great and full opacity can be reached in 2-3 coats (I like three coats for maximum richness, depth, and sparkle!).  Dry time is average.  This is a truly special and unique color, and I wish all who are interested in it the very best of luck in the auction!

Here is a video so you can see the polish in action!  Be sure to watch the intentionally blurry bit at the end to see how much it sparkles!

The Inspiration Behind Forever Home

When I commissioned Forever Home, I sought to capture the warmth, love, and excitement that surrounds a pig's adoption.  One special pig's story was at the front of my mind throughout the process. Meet Girlfriend:

Girlfriend, along with several other pigs, was rescued from a hoarding situation last year.  She had been living in a mobile home bathroom, was obese, and as the folks at Ross Mill would soon realize, she was pregnant.  Girlfriend gave birth to 8 beautiful piglets and proved herself to be an excellent mother.  Her adorable photo updates were regularly posted to Ross Mill's Facebook page, and she and her piglets gained plenty of fans.  One such fan was Cynthia.  Cynthia ventured to Ross Mill with the goal of adopting a piglet, but when she learned that no adoption had been set up for Girlfriend, she changed her mind and decided to adopt Girlfriend instead.  Once Girlfriend reached a healthy weight and got spayed, Cynthia returned to Ross Mill to pick her up and bring her to her forever home in Massachusetts.

Today, Girlfriend has a wonderful life.  She is loved by everyone in the family, including another potbellied pig named Porkins!  She is nicknamed "Diva" and "Grub" and is Cynthia's pride and joy (along with Porkins, and their human brother Eric, of course).  She has come a long way from the life of neglect she once suffered.  Girlfriend is happy, healthy, and where she was always meant to be.
